The Swiss artist Itten, along with his colleagues at the pre-war Bauhaus in Weimar Germany (Klee, Kandinsky, Moholy-Nagy, Albers, Mies van der Rohe), was as one of the leading pedagogues associated with the modern art movement. The Bauhaus was closed by the Nazis and this book is a recapitulation of his famous course.
