Maurice Utrillo (1883-1955), son of the painter Suzanne Valadon, grew up in the bohemian atmosphere of Montmartre in the centre of Paris, surrounded by artists. He became famous, in the early decades of the twentieth century, for his Post-Impressionist views of the neighbourhood.
