1 Spence, Lewis
Druids: Their Origins and History
New York Barnes & Noble Books 1995 1566198941 / 9781566198943 Hard Cover Fine Fine
199 pp., bib. notes, index; 23 cm. First published, 1949. Tight, clean copy. Fine DJ. "Druids were skilled in the magical arts and it is possible that almost the entire system of Celtic occult belief had a Druidic origin. In this book, however, Lewis Spence deals exclusively with those occult practices that are definitely stated to have issues from a Druidic source. The practices he describes in graphic detail include illusion and transformation, forms of divination, prophecy and astrology." - Publisher.

3 Spence, Lewis; Palmer, Trevor (Introduction by)
The History of Atlantis
New York Barnes & Noble Books 2005 076077045X / 9780760770450 First edition thus Trade Paperback Fine
xxiv, 216 pp., [16] of plates, illus., maps, biblio.; 21 cm. Tight, clean copy. "Atlantis has fascinated scholars and occultists for centuries since Plato wrote about the sunken city in Timaeus and Critias. Whether Plato was presenting Atlantis as factual history or merely as a philosophical device, Lewis Spence's The History of Atlantis has ensured that the fascination with Plato's story has continued to the present day. Spence, despite his reputation as a scholar of mythology and folklore, presents a history of Atlantis that is consistent with the available physical evidence. / James Lewis Thomas Chalmers Spence was born in Forfarshire, Scotland, in 1874. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute and became Vice-President of the Scottish Anthropological and Folklore Society. His first book about Plato's island was The Problem of Atlantis (1924), followed by Atlantis in America (1925), and then The History of Atlantis (1926). He is also the author of The Myths of Mexico and Peru (1913), The Ancient Egyptian Myths and Legends (1915), and The Myths of the North American Indians (1914). Spence was awarded a Royal pension in 1951 for Services to Literature, and died in 1955." - Publisher.
